Wild Out West

Restoring nature for the future

Wild Out West

Rearing and reintroduction

Sportfiskarna works with Gothenburg Botanical Garden, the Natural Resources Administration of Region Västra Götaland and Nordens Ark. For the sturgeon project, this provides important support for developing methods for breeding, conserving and reintroducing Atlantic sturgeon.

The partnership aims to create long-term solutions for conserving threatened species and make nature restoration an integral part of future biodiversity work. By combining research, education and practical conservation, the project lays the foundations for more resilient ecosystems and richer plant and animal life.

The project runs from 2025 to 2028 and is funded by Region Västra Götaland. Read more on the Västra Götaland Region website.
